2024 “On Native Land Wall” Calendar
In 2023, Native Made joined forces with Omnidon Productions to craft the inaugural edition of the “On Native Land” Wall Calendar for the year 2024. The primary objectives of this endeavor included the development of a calendar featuring:
- Picturesque images capturing the essence of Native Land, complemented by informative descriptions.
- Information designed to foster awareness and education about Indigenous culture and initiatives.
- Support for an Indigenous nonprofit organization.
During the same year, our collaboration extended to a partnership with the Native American Rights Fund, wherein a substantial portion of pre-sales was dedicated to supporting the organization’s mission.
2024 “On Native Land” Calendar Disclaimer
We acknowledge that, regardless of our location in the Americas, we are on Native Land. This project is the result of a collaborative effort between Angelina Hilton, an enrolled member of the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska and the founder of Native Made, and Don Sirianni, an Indigenous ally and the founder of Omnidon Productions.
The calendar has multiple objectives: Firstly, it aims to raise awareness about Indigenous cultures, issues, and initiatives. Additionally, it strives to generate awareness and funds for an Indigenous nonprofit organization, initiate discussions on Indigenous topics, amplify Indigenous visibility throughout 2024, and foster connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. It caters to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals by featuring Indigenous observance days alongside US Federal holidays and dominant cultural observances. The US Federal holidays and observances are conveniently listed in the February grid.
To achieve our objectives, we have presented informal information gathered from various sources. We’ve strived for accuracy and cultural sensitivity, investing time and thought into its design and functionality. We are not experts, and we acknowledge that publicly available information may vary, may not encompass the complete history, or may remain inconclusive. We have also made efforts to acknowledge the diverse Indigenous nations inhabiting the land, and recognize that unintentional omissions may have occurred. Importantly, the calendar does not establish boundaries for Indigenous nations. For inquiries, we encourage individuals to pursue their own independent research.
We believe that progress is best achieved through learning, comprehension, and collaborative partnerships. We’re committed to accuracy and open to partnerships with Indigenous communities and people for future calendars. Your feedback is invaluable for our ongoing improvement efforts, and with this, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to you.
